Our Promises
- We will never sell or share student information to advertisers. We do not use third-party cookies to show students ads or follow them around the internet.
- Data is used only to provide educational support to your student.
- You’re in control: you can review, correct, or delete your student’s data at any time.

Your Student’s Data is Protected
We protect your student’s data with strong safeguards such as encryption and strict access controls. Our systems are hosted in secure U.S. data centers that meet widely recognized safety standards. In our effort/purpose to support schools safely, Closegap staff are regularly trained in privacy standards and security protocols.
Relevant Student Privacy Laws
Closegap complies with FERPA, COPPA, PPRA, and State Laws. This means that schools get parent consent or act as the parent’s agent before young children (under 13) use Closegap. Closegap acts as a “school official” and handles education records only for legitimate educational purposes under school direction. Schools manage consent for any protected survey topics, like those under SOPIPA. You can view sample parent notification forms here.
Parent / Guardian Rights
- You are in control of your student’s data.

- Correct or delete data: Contact your school to fix errors or remove your student’s information. Your school will work with Closegap to update the profile.
