You must have school-level access to create custom check-in questions as they appear for all students across the entire school.
- Log in to your Closegap staff account here.
- Click '
Manage' from the navigation menu on the bottom left-hand side of the page.
- The Manage page will automatically open to Staff. Click 'Custom Questions' on the navigation bar at the top.
-
Click '+Add Question.'
- Note: Students will only be able to answer yes or no.
-
A popup will appear.
- Use one of our examples by selecting a question from the list. Use the dropdown menu to select the maximum number of responses per student. Then, click 'USE TEMPLATE.'
- Or, create your own custom yes/no question by typing it in the box. Use the dropdown menu to select the maximum number of responses per student. Then, click 'CREATE.'
- The question will appear at the bottom of your
Home page, along with a bar chart showing the percentage of students who have responded.
FAQ
Where do custom questions appear for students?
Custom questions display for students towards the end of their check-in.
Does creating a custom question replace an existing check-in question?
No. When you create a custom question, an additional question is added to the check-in for students to answer. We recommend limiting the number of custom questions that you have active at one time. Consider selecting 1 or 2 as the maximum number of responses per student.
Can I customize the other check-in questions?
The check-in questions cannot be edited because each answer provided by students is weighted to calculate a student’s help score and determine how they're triaged (urgent, may need support, good to go) so that you're able to follow up and provide support as needed.
Can I create a custom question for a particular group of students (i.e. a class or grade-level)?
Not yet -- for now, you're only able to create custom questions for all students in Closegap.
