How-To View Responses to Custom Check-In Questions

Staff with school-level access can view responses from all students on campus.  Staff with classroom-level access can view responses from students in their classrooms.

1. Log in to your Closegap staff account here.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of your Home page to see active custom questions alongside a bar chart of student responses.  
3. Click the question to view student responses in detail.
4. You will see a bar graph of student responses on the Manage Custom Questions page as well as who created the question.  
5. Click the yes or no section of the bar graph to view the list of students who selected each answer.
6. Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down student responses by date, check-in, grade, or classroom.
7. Leave the question toggled on to allow students to continue to answer or turn the question off by clicking the toggle button on the upper right-hand side of the page.
   • Tip:  Turning the question off rather than deleting it allows you to use it again in the future.

How can I use Closegap to respond to students' answers to custom questions?

Click Messages to send a message to a student in response to their answer.

What happens if I turn off a custom question?

When a question is toggled off, it no longer appears in student check-ins but remains saved as an option for future use by your school. This way, you can turn it back on later without needing to recreate it.

Can I delete a custom question?

Yes, but we recommend turning a question off instead of deleting it. Turning it off preserves past responses and makes it easy to use again in the future.
